The Boxer Bellion 2022 Rider Information

the boxer “bellion” ride 9 october 2022

event day info –

start, finish and car park – 3-1-5 health club, mannin way, lancaster

*there is a 7-foot barrier at entrance to car park*

if you are in a van or have a bike on roof – please park on left hand side in front of the barrier

  • the gpx of the ride starts and finishes under this barrier *

*there is a parking eye on car park*

which charges after 3 hours – go into 3-1-5 reception area and book your vehicle into the system to park free all day – there are also toilets in the club’s entrance and a café inside – the club opens @ 0800hrs for this.

 start time

you can start your ride whenever you like on the day – chris and lynn will be in the 3-1-5 car park from 0900 till 1000hrs

 * there are currently a set of road works in staverley (about halfway round) due to be completed by friday – if they are not, the route will need to be drastically changed – so please check your inbox on saturday for any updated gpx’s *

 there are no route marking arrows, marshals, or safety signs anywhere on the route this time

the ride is 66 x miles long – so may take around 5 hours + to complete – depending on whether you stop en route or not

if you record your ride with strava and send us your data, post ride – we will send you a special souvenir completion certificate.  car stickers and medals will also be posted to riders who bought them when entering online

pit stops

there are public toilets and some brilliant places to buy refreshments along the way –

the auction mart @ 15 miles – if the market is open, has a café inside

staverley village @ 36 miles – has a host of cafes and eateries – including wilfs in the mill yard and toilets

arnside @ 52 miles – has plenty of seaside cafes, pubs, bakeries, and ice cream sellers

silverdale @ 55 miles – has a co-op shop as well as several cafes, toilets, and a pub

carnforth – around 6 miles from the finish – has a greggs, several pubs, cafes and a co-op shop (+ 3x chinese takeaways within 100 meters of the traffic lights by the county hotel !! )

 back at the finish – you will find both holiday and premier inns – each serving welcome food and drinks as well as a nearby mcdonalds and the café inside 3-1-5 may be still open (although they generally shut @ 1400hrs on sundays)

please note that this event is very low key and self guided, there are no marshals, medics, broom wagons, feed stations etc (these will return in 2023 onwards)
