Back in the room after a fab weekend - think we broke Strava on Sunday - we drove round our Lake District 100 miler route in car and received 60 x King of Mountains e mails off Strava overnight !! - but thats another story 😕

I am back to organizing our exiciting new series of 100 mile sportives in and around the biketastic regions of The Lakes - Dales and Forest of Bowland.
Having collated a calendar of similar events within a 100 miles of our Lancaster base - I have taken the command decision to alter a couple of our dates - to prevent clashing with another event and give riders a better spread of rides to chose to enjoy and train for throughout the year
So our calendar is now -
29 April 18 - Lake District 100 miler
15 July 18 - Yorkshire Dales 100 miler
16 Sept 18 - Forest of Bowland 100 miler
Come and join us for possibly some of the most challenging rides in England
My next job is to register our 3 x events on British Cycling calendar (where you can enter) as well as www.sportive.com
Just to keep you in the loop - we are working night and day right now to make our events next year the best in The North West!!
We have done many an event - both running and biking - and intend to pinch the bits we have enjoyed most - like a free drink and chill out area - after a fell run along with the gradual start and “non competitive” nature of Sportive bike events.
Several facilities have offered the use of their car parks and other amenities - which is great - and our initial dates for our 3 x Sportives in 2018 will be -
Welcome to our brand spanking new website and events company - Top Dog Events - inspired by the other love of my life - a bonkers white boxer dog called Bailey - that I had the privilege of getting to know when I met Lynn several years ago.
Like Lynn she was always up for an adventure come rain or shine - we lost her a couple of years ago - when old age caught her up and she could no longer walk - we miss her constantly and the thought of her being part of our new venture was right somehow.
Partners in crime - Chris and Bailey Baines
So we have lately realized that we are blessed to live in a truly amazing place to enjoy our various passions - which include running among fells, trails and local roads as well as riding our bikes on and off the road - check out Chris’s Strava feed to get an idea of some of our favorite routes.
Chris currently loves showing visitors to the area - Lakes, Dales and Forest of Bowland some of the many outdoor adventures available - be it rock climbing, mountain walking, canoeing, fell running, mountain biking ect as a professional guide - while Lynn works in NHS - but we are on a mission to share some of our very favorite routes, and places in this great region of England with as many folk as possible.
To that end - we have 3 x 86 / 100 mile challenging cycle routes in The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland planned as well as 3 x provisional dates for 2018
29 April - Lakes
1 July - Dales
23 Sept - Bowland
We are in talks with several local venues to arrange start / finish areas as well as working closely with British Cycling - becoming registered event organizers and following their best practice guidelines.
